About this ranking

This ranking surfaces the weakest year-on-year median house-price changes reported for New South Wales suburbs, sorting the year-on-year change from lowest upward. Prices are derived from state Valuer-General data and published alongside ABS Census demographics. A suburb must have a positive latest median and at least 200 residents to enter the comparison; this prevents absent prices and tiny Statistical Areas from creating artificial falls. The as-of label reflects the newest price period in the returned state set, not necessarily a perfectly synchronized sales window for every locality. A negative median change can arise from a different mix of dwellings or limited transactions, not only from like-for-like homes losing value. The table is therefore a factual screen of published suburb medians, not an appraisal, a distress indicator, a forecast or advice about buying or selling.
