About this ranking

The Victorian suburbs with the lowest year-on-year median price changes lead this table. It sorts the year-on-year change observations supplied in the suburb dataset after removing records with no positive median and ABS Statistical Areas below the 200-resident threshold. Prices come from state Valuer-General-derived records, while population and household context come from the ABS Census. The newest period available anywhere in the response is disclosed, but suburb transaction windows and sample sizes may differ. A falling median can reflect which homes sold, not a uniform repricing of every address; sparse turnover makes that distinction particularly important. The ranking is useful for describing the lower end of the reported change distribution, but it is not a repeat-sales measure, a prediction, evidence of forced selling or advice to buy, hold or sell in Victoria.
